Is our Education System helping the child find its ‘Thrill’?

Taking my concept of Thrill, Skill and Drill, I’d like to talk about the status of ‘education through coaching’ in our country. In the previous blog, I talked about how parents affected the child’s thought process, and how the student’s need to find what they are passionate (thrill) about, and then acquire skills in that field to enhance his/her intelligence level (drill).

If we look at any industry trend today, we’d see that education has become a necessary trait required to even apply for a job. The times have changed when you could apply for a job without even being qualified for it, and learn with the time. Now that the competition is rising and job opportunities lessening, students are fighting their fights to grab the job with the best package.

But is doing a job the ultimate goal?

If we look at a child’s growth journey, we might see that a child who has the traits and the skills of becoming a good chef, is opting for commerce or science field because of their parents, or because there is a good coaching available to prepare for the entrance exam in the city; and also because he/she doesn’t know if there is any such opportunity available out in the world.
Parents usually take decisions for their children in smaller cities, and this is prevalent in some bigger cities as well. In the heed of becoming established, and getting a good package, the child isn’t able to find or even look at what he/she could be good at.

Coaching education is also prevailing everywhere because parents are no more hesitant in paying a handsome amount for the best of their children, but again, is this what you should be looking at? Or is aiming and achieving the child’s dream the ultimate goal for growth, and what about the child’s inner satisfaction?

Also, what is a child learning at a coaching institute? Is there any value addition? Is it any different from what the child is learning in school? After all, will this make your child happy, successful, and satisfied in the long-term?

Think again…
I’d like to leave you at this thought.
